No Mow May

A green meadows with summer flowers

This year we’ve been  taking part in Plantlife’s No Mow May campaign, giving some of our green spaces a chance to grow wild for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

We have left patches of grass around the village to grow a little longer over the summer season.  The locations are:

• North Park

• Montgomery play park

• Tobruk Close

• The sports field

Can you spot any pollinators in the longer grasses? We will be carrying out some professional ecological surveys of the areas of longer grass to understand what difference it makes to biodiversity in the area.

Why not join in at home and let a patch of your garden go a little wilder?
